Wrong to check up on ill ex...what would you do?

I dated this girl for the longest and knew her even longer as a friend and she has a teminal illness. We were great friends and thought hooking up would be perfect...it was a disaster. We are now apart and I'm happily with someone very nice and sweet. My issue is she just advised me of some complications to her illness and I can't help but to be worried. I know she can be manipulative at times and has pulled some things in the past out of anger but I just don't think she would play with this. She already has one known terminal illness may have cancer on top of it. I want to check on her from time to time but I don't want to give her the false impression of us getting back together and I also don't want to screw up what I have. What would you do?Wrong to check up on ill ex...what would you do?
you should check on her. i would doubt that if she's suffering from a terminal illness that she would be too worried about weather or not you two might be getting back together or not. right? i don't mean that to be rude, but that seems like it would be lower on the list of priorties than her health.





it would also be pretty weird if your girlfriend would be upset with you for checking on the very serious health of your friend. if something happens to her, you'd be upset that you didn't act like a better freind and check on her -- so i say follow your heart.

I would think that you either have a slow puncture or a faulty tyre valve. If tyre is worn would sugest replacement, or for a cheaper alternative you can have the valve changed at a tyre fitting outfit. If you think it is a slow puncture then you can buy a sealant that you squirt into the tyre via the valve, this then seals the hole and repairs future holes in the tyre, the sealant runs on the inside of the tyre when you are driving and if a puncture develops the sealant by centrifugal forces runs over the hole and seals it. If you're talking about over a time period, it has a slow leak. If you mean you fill it w/a hose w/gage then check w/hand-held gage, the valve core may be in too deep or defective. Note, valve cores often are the source of slow leaks, put some liquid [like saliva] over the valve to see if it bubbles, if so there is the leak.
Next time you air up your tire. get a spray bottle and mix dish soap and water. Just enough to make it bubble. spray around the rim and air valve. if you see bubbles forming at one spot you found your air leak. Sounds like the valve not seating right after you put air in it. $6 to $8 dollar fix. Check the tread and see if there is a nail in the tread. Might need someone to drive forward little at a time so you can look at the whole tread. little screws and nails can do the same thing. also a cheap fix at any tire shop.
That`s certainly a tough one Jerome . Maybe the pressure gauge is shot ? Could be one of those new type tires with an automatic safety pressure relief valve that lets out any excess pressure .





I`ll bet that`s it ! The tire safety valve needs adjusting to 30 lbs , or replacing . Take your car into any of the larger dealerships and ask them to inspect all the tire pressure relief valves .
i have one that does the same thing on my car,it has a slow leak around the valve stem someday i,ll fix it,but its probably a slow leak that's causing this,you can take it off and do a water and soap test on it to see where its at,that will help you find it,also look for a small tack or a nail in it that to will cause it,good luck hope this helps.
If you have aluminum rims (most common problem), the air is possibly leaking past the rims ';bead';. This is where the tire contacts the rim. Corrosion build-up on this bead will allow air to seep past. You should take it to your tire store and have them remove the tire and clean the rim.





Another possibilty is the valve stem....





At any rate, have it looked at.....
Bring your car to a professional. The tire might have a puncture or your car is not aligned correctly.
u may have something in it or the bead may be leaking,,
Any number of things could cause air leaks. There might be a small nail, piece of glass or other object embedded in the tire. It may have a small slice in the tread or sidewall area. The bead could be not seated (due to corrosion, or dirt that was on it before the tire was installed). The valve stem may be loose (wrong size), damaged or the stem may need to be replaced.





Have it checked at a tire shop and necessary repairs made and I'll bet the problem disappears! Thanks for the two points. Good luck!

I have schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I'm being treated for them. Anyway, those of you that also have mental illnesses/disabilities, how would you feel if someone said this to you?





';oh, you have a daughter? I think it is a horrible idea for someone like you to have kids.'; I asked her what she meant by ';like you';, and she said mentally ill. My daughter is very healthy, in every way. I didn't get too pissed off, I just went into work early the next morning, turned everything in her office upside-down (literally), put invisible tape over her phone piece, then wrapped her office in foil another time. I didn't get in trouble when my boss found out, he thought it was funny. I talked to my girlfriend about it and she got seriously pissed off.





So I ask you, how would you feel if someone said that to you? How do you think you would handle it? I guess I can kind of see where the miserable old hag was coming from, but she was a jerk about it.My ';mentally ill'; friends, how would you feel if someone said this to you?

I have a dilemma with this. I guess I am trying to understand how this came up in a conversation. Is what you're being treated for ';common knowledge?';
Your daughter might have issues later in life but I agree she was wrong to say what she did. I have bipolar disorder and will not have any biological children. However my fiance has it as well and his son is a very smart kid, at 15 he wants to be a history teacher and join the army as well... it sounds as if he'll be very successful.

Yes, I work in special ed and have seen cripples who would have no concept of what a god is. How can they accept Jesus if they can't even stand, talk, think, point, eat on their own. Other than that, it could be just a side affect, as you get sick your bodies ability to purify itself of toxins decreases and thus leaves your skin to work over time. Some peoples skin can become oil, others can break out in acne, or just react abnormally.

For those who are just plain criminals and not mentally ill, there do need to be forms of alternative punishment to relieve the burden on prisons.





And not only does the burden on prisons (and our wallets) need to be addressed, but restitution to victims needs to be addressed.





Take for example a person who commits cheque fraud: That person needs not to be locked away, but made to work and repay what they have stolen.





Jails need to house criminals that are a vicious threat to society (rapists, murderers, molesters, armed robbers, etc). Non-violent crime needs to be addressed by labour programmes or service to the community/victim, where the criminal is punished by doing something constructive for the society he wronged. Not only is this better morally for the criminal, but it is less of a drain on the taxpayer.





And although many will disagree with me, if it were up to me I would institute corporal punishment. This is a great question. The prisons are full of mentally ill...a lot of very low IQ people are in prison due to the fact they have very low reasoning skills. They can be talked into anything by any fast talking con man that comes along and many times take the fall for it and the con man walks away free as a bird.


I have a son that was in prison for DWI and he said it was so sad to see some of these prisoner's that in fact belong in a mentally ill facility and here they were. He said they would get the heck beat out of them because they could not figure out or were not smart enough to just be a loner and do the time and keep their mouth shut.


You talk to any warden of a prison and he will tell you 50% of the incarcerated belong in a mental facility. How terribly sad for these people, they should be getting help instead of being throw in with people that can and do hurt them. So, yes you are right on building facility's for the mentally ill.


As far as petty crimes go, well, usually you get a few chances on petty and then the judge gets sick of it and figures your a hard learner. So its off to prison, maybe that will teach you something. Some petty crimes may be nothing to one person but can cause someone else a lot of heartache.
